Manual Audit:BIOCAD_RXN-85567
Tetracyclines are primarily expelled from bacterial cells by efflux pumps. Gram-negative bacteria often use MFS transporters (TetA, TetB, etc.) to pump tetracyclines out, conferring resistance. Some Gram-positive bacteria and environmental isolates may use ABC transporters for tetracycline efflux. No EC number is assigned specifically for MFS drug exporters, but ABC-type multidrug efflux pumps fall under EC 7.6.2.2 (ABC-type xenobiotic transporter).
