In this reaction nitrate/nitrite response regulator NarP is phosphorylated byphospho-NarQ sensor protein.In the presence of both nitrate and nitrite the nitrate/nitrite responseregulator NarP can be phosphorylated by both nitrate/nitrite sensorkinase-phosphotransferases phospho-NarX and phospho-NarQ.
