TFBS Motif Families
A TFBS motif is a short, highly conserved DNA sequence pattern (usually 6–20 base pairs) located in regulatory regions like promoters or enhancers. It serves as the specific docking station recognized by a TF. Within a GRN, these motifs dictate the logic of gene expression: the presence, absence, or combination of specific motifs determines whether a gene is turned on, off, or modulated in response to cellular signals.
